About Us
Crepusculum Choir is a student-run chamber choir based in Boston, Massachusetts. Our members attend the world-renowned Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Crepusculum, Latin for twilight, strives for the sublime blending between light and dark voices. We perform both various well-known pieces and student compositions in concert, service, and video setting. Our objective is to grow our presence on and off campus by building a network of musicians, collaborators, and opportunities both at Berklee and in the Boston area.
Mission Statement
Crepusculum Choir exists to provide Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory students with an opportunity to rehearse, perform, and record professionally in an entirely student-run chamber choir. Our mission is to spread our love of choral music to Berklee and the general Boston area, and to build a welcoming and close-knit choral community.
Vision Statement
Our vision is to create a sound that gives our soul and touches the lives of both the members in our choir and our listeners. We value passion and dedication to our craft, a family-style close knit environment, creating the perfect blending of voices, and sharing the cultures, identities, and languages of our community in song.
Our Events
Concerts
Our choir performs multiple pieces from classical contemporary tunes to upbeat gospel rhythms in a variety of venues both at Berklee, as well as around the Greater Boston Area. Our group travels via the MBTA to the Marriott at the Custom House Tower, takes the bus to the Old Cambridge Baptist Church, Old North Church, Houston Hall, The Loft at Berklee, and much more. All individuals are welcome to see our performances in person or watch livestreams of our concerts that we typically upload on our Instagram page, We strive to deliver our sound to a broad array of audiences from multiple areas across the world.
Bonding and Fundraising Events
To curate the bond between our members, we hold multiple events for individuals within our choir to help strengthen friendship in our group. These include a wide variety of events such as karaoke nights, movie nights, ice skating, escape rooms, picnics at public parks, retreats, holiday-themed bonding events, and fun trips to Boston's prominent landmarks. In addition, we also participate in events to support both our choir and other organizations, which include charities and fundraising for restaurants such as Blaze Pizza, and much more! Our objective for these events is to help us develop as a choir not just musically, but also as a choral family where our members would continue support, care for, and understand each other throughout our college journies.
Busking
At least one or two times each semester, our choir travels together to Boston's Newbury Street and other places around the city to sing some pieces from our repertoire that are open for the public to watch. As preparation for our performances in concert venues, we utilize this opportunity to give others a glimpse into how are upcoming concerts are carried out, singing snippets of our repertoire to others in various areas across town. Occasionally, we also hold festive performance events which include Christmas caroling, and so much more!
Collaborations
We collaborate with other choral groups and music-based organizations within the Berklee bubble as well as outside of campus, such as the choir from the Old Cambridge Baptist Church (OCBC) and singing pieces composed by members of the Society of Composers (SOC). As we seek versatility in our sound, we participate in collaborations as an opportunity to inspire and become inspired by others who hold a similar passion for music. Through these intentions, we are always looking forward to melding and developing distinct voices together to create a grand, unified sound. We hope to elevate our listeners with the music we create with other singers.
